Two new units for ethanol dehydration via molecular sieve (InTech® System) went into operation. At Santo Inácio unit (Santo Inácio, PR) of the Alto Alegre Group, the plant has a capacity of 700 m³ / 24 hours and at Vale do Paraná (Suzanápolis, SP) the molecular sieve capacity is of 500 m³ / 24 hours. In the Intech® System water is removed by molecular separation via zeolites, not contaminating the anhydrous ethanol with dehydrating agents, and the consumption of utilities, especially steam, is much smaller, which contributes to an increase in cogeneration and energy exports.
Present in the main groups of the sugar and ethanol sector – 23 supplies adding to a total of 15,000 m³ of anhydrous ethanol – the design of the molecular sieve has among other features the quality and application of the standards in manufacturing, conquered by NG’s expertise in equipment for the petrochemical and oil & gas industries, where the application of the ASME code is fundamental.
